I believe that you are the expert in your own story. You already have inside you, everything you need to heal from past wounds, no matter how deeply rooted or how painful they may seem. My role as a therapist is to come alongside you, as a collaborator in your healing and a witness to your story.
I work from a relational framework, meaning that I believe that the connection between a client and a therapist is a powerful catalyst for change. I also utilize attachment based models and emotionally focused therapy approaches which explore how our early relationships create the blueprint for our understanding of love, trust and self-worth.The goal of unpacking this history isn’t to harp on what went wrong; it's to find freedom from the stories that keep us feeling stuck and disconnected from ourselves and from others.
Therapy will involve open ended conversations where you take the lead, and at times, more directive conversations where you may feel challenged. I also utilize EMDR for trauma processing when appropriate.
